About
Implantology is the branch of dentistry dedicated to dental implants. It is concerned with the man-made replacement of missing natural teeth and supporting structure with artificial prosthesis anchored to the jawbone(either the maxilla or the mandible). It often takes the form of a screw that is composed of titanium or titanium alloy.
So, oral implantology is a discipline filled with complexity. The field demands its practitioners to have a high level of expertise in a vast array of areas. Due to the higher success rate, dental care is turning more and more toward using implant – based oral prosthesis.
As the dental implantology science is growing very fast, the demand to perfectionism is becoming more challenging. There is the need to consider reviewing the actual capabilities of training programs, stabilizing the basics among trainees, probing the applications of new tactics as per the evidence-based recommendations, potentiating research projects in the field of oral maxillofacial surgery, rehabilitation, and dental implantology. Hence, implant modules are organized to teach & train the students.
