Basic Life Support workshop for interns

One hour lecture class was given by the resource person. The department teaching faculty were encouraged to participate the class and clear doubts. A live demonstration was given by the resource person on BLS.

Conclusions: It was aimed at a group of certified clinical practitioners to make them well aware of the possible medical emergencies that can happen in a dental set-up and adapted to such situations by implementing BLS.

Digital smile designing by Prosthodontics

he program was started with an introduction followed by an invocation song by Dr.Sneha H. Lighting of the lamp was done to seek the blessings of the Almighty. The principal, Dr. Praveen B Kudva sir addressed the gathering, after which the guest speaker was introduced by Dr. Padmaja.S and lecture was delivered by the speaker.The speaker was presented with a certificate of appreciation along with momento.

A total of 48 participants registered for the CDE program and in the hands-on workshop. The registrations were handled by Dr. Sneha H.

Dr. Santosh Doddamani presented a lecture on the topic -Digital smile designing whichwas followed by the vote of thanks delivered by Dr. NeelanjaliM.It was followed by a tea break.

After this, the hands-on workshop started where a demo was given on a case by Dr.SantoshDoddamani. The session paused for lunch which was organized by Dr. Raghavendra Prasad S. and was resumed again in which the participants critically analyzed and designed smile design on a case digitally followed by questionare regarding case and feedback was taken regarding the workshop from participants Then the programme was concluded with distribution of certificates to participants.

ONE ONE DAY VISIT TO THE C-CAMP

An International exhibition & conference for education & skill sector was organized from 17/10/23 -19/10/23 October 2023, Bangalore, India. Sri Siddhartha Dental College had assigned Dr.Shubha, Dr.Pushpa and Dr.Mahesh kumar along with SSMC staff to attend the exhibition. In the exhibition all facets of education including curriculum, technology, learning environment and collaboration was displayed and discussed. Dr.LingeGowda K.B, Vice Chancellor of SSAHE University was also present for the event.

ONE ONE DAY VISIT TO THE C-CAMP

A group of faculty members from Sri Siddhartha dental college had visited the C-CAMP a research foundation in Bangalore, as a part of SSAHE university program.

During the visit, faculty members interacted with Director and CEO of C-CAMP Dr. Taslim Arif Saiyed, Director of CIBIP Dr. Ravi Nayar and their other colleagues about the facilities available at C-CAMP. Visit was mainly focused on to introduce our faculty to the various facilities available in the C-CAMP to conduct research in bio-medical field. Our faculty visited various departments in C-CAMP following the interaction.

UG orientation - 2023

UG Orientation program & foundation course was conducted for 1 BDS students of 2023-24 batch from 11/9/23 to 16/9/23. A series of guest lectures was taken briefly by both internal and external speakers.

On 11/9/23, first day of the program started with invocation song, inauguration, and welcome address by the Principal Dr. Praveen B Kudva. Dr. CP Sateesh, Dental superintend addressed the gathering.Introduction of each department and briefing about dental subjects by respective dental department HODs was carried out.

Topics emphasizing on BDS curriculum by Dr. Marimallappa, Rules & Regulations of SSDC by Dr.Raghavendra Prasad, Mentorship program by Dr. Sharath Kumar, Sports and cultural by Dr.Pushpalatha G was briefed.

Principal Sir took up the queries of parents and students and information was conveyed to the crowd.Day 1 Program was concluded by Nation al anthem and Hi-tea was arranged for parents, students and staff in Dental canteen. Campus tour for students was taken by Dr. Likhitha & Dr. Shubha from 2.00- 4.00pm.

A guest lecture is organized on 11/08/2023 in AV hall on the topic of "Hospital and Health Management" from NSS committee. Program is inaugurated and addressed by Principal Dr. Praveen B Kudva. Program is preceded with Dr. Kirti Udayi and Dr. Amita Mukhopadhyay and team from IIMR Bangalore. They emphasized interns on various opportunities in the field of health care management after graduation along with IT sector. Around 28 interns are attended the program and got maximum benefits.

DEPARTMENT OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY - NATIONAL TRAUMA AWARENESS CAMPAIGN PROGRAMME REPORT

On the occasion of National Trauma Awareness Day, the oral and maxillofacial surgery team from Sri Siddhartha Dental College and Hospital conducted an awareness programme in Sri Siddhartha institute of paramedical sciences with great ardour on 26/08/2023, Saturday.

The programme was organised under the able guidance of Dr. Praveen B Kudva, Principal sri Siddhartha Dental College and Dr. Mahesh Kumar R, Head of department of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The audience comprised of 160 members including students of paramedical institute. The event comprised of introductory speech by Dr Marimallappa TR, Reader, Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery followed by power point presentation shared by the association of oral and maxillofacial surgeons of India.

The presentation was divided into three sections
1) Introduction and awareness regarding the importance of road safety
2) Introduction comprising of first aid and trauma response for Samaritans
3) Brief outline regarding maxillofacial surgery domain and our role in the management of trauma

The programme was concluded with an interactive question-answer session and vote of thanks by Dr. Jambukeshwar Kumar B, Reader, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery

Financial Management for Doctors Program Report

A guest lecture is organized on 19/07/2023 in AV hall on the topic of "Financial Management for Doctors" from staff and student welfare committee. Program is inaugurated and addressed by Principal Dr. Praveen B Kudva. Program is preceded with Mrs. Vasantha.and team from HDFC bank Tumkur. They emphasized on financial management with investment on SIPs, Mutual funds. Speakers spoke on term plans associated with financial long term benefits. Emerging Trends and Career Options in Public Health

A online guest lecture on “Emerging Trends and Career Options in Public Health” was organized for staff, interns and undergraduate students of SSDC through Google meet on 24/06/23 under the aegis of Sri Siddhartha Dental College & Hospital, Tumakuru. The event started at 10.00 am with welcome speech followed by introduction of the speaker Dr.Jyotsna S, Director & CEO- Urja-Catalysts for Transformation, Bangalore. by Dr..Darshana and Dr. Bharatesh JV, Head of the department addressed the gathering A total of 65 participants attended the guest lecture.She emphasized the need to public health in many sectors and its opportunities, approach and requirement of education qualification etc in India and abroad. The guest lecture was well appercaited by the participants. As a token of appreciation, E-certificate was presented to the speaker by Principal Dr. Praveen B Kudva and Dr. Mythri concluded programme by vote of thanks.

International Women's Day-2023

International Women's Day-2023 was celebrated on 16th March 2023 at Sri Siddhartha Dental College, which was organized by Women Empowerment Commiltce. The program was anchored by Dr Pushpalatha, started with invocation song by Ms Spoorthi followed by lighting of the lamp by dignitaries. Principal Dr Praveen B Kudva gave the welcome address.

On the occasion of Women's Day celebration various fun filled cultural activities were conducted for students, teaching and non-teaching staff from 8 to 1St of March and the winners of these activities were honored. The non-teaching female staffs were felicitated as a token of appreciation for their services to the institution.

On this day final year student Mr Ankur and team dedicated a song for the women power of SSDC, third year student Mr Pratheeth Kudva spoke about women empowerment and the women who inspired him in his life.

Program was followed with a guest lecture by the resource person Ms Apoorva C. White Sparks State Committee Member - A Medical and Dental students Forum. She beautifully narrated "Life and Struggles of Madam Curie" which tried to invoke the moral values and responsibilities towards their profession and country among the students.

The lecture was followed by cultural program by interns and students. The program was concluded with vote of thanks and refreshments.

A State level seminar on "Being an Empathic Ilealth Care Professional*was organized for interns and undergraduate students at AV hall, SSDC on 07/03/23 under the aegis of Sri Siddhartha Dental College & Hospital, Tumakuru.
The event started at 10.00 am with Welcome speech by Dr. Darshana and Principal Dr Praveen B Kudva addressed the gathering followed by introduction of the speaker Dr.Deepti V. Reader. RV Dental College, Bangalore.
A total of 67 participants attended the state level seminar. The seminar emphasized the need to develop empathy for the patients on the part of the health care professionals and its importance in dealing with day to day patient care. The seminar was well appreciated by the participants. As a token of appreciation, certificate was presented to the speaker and seminar was concluded by vote of thanks.

The event was hosted by Dr Varsha S, 2 yeur postgraduate from the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery. The program commented with the introduction of guest speaker Dr. Rajanikanth B R. Associate professor. Department of oral and maxillofacial surgery, Faculty of dental sciences, M.S. Ramish University of applied sciences. Bengaluru. The gathering was addressed by our principal Dr Praveen B Kudva and head of the department of OMFS. Our guest speaker Dr Kajanikanth B R spoke about Bone Regeneration followed by its clinical relevance. Lastly, Token of Appreciation was handed over to guest speaker by principal.

A state level seminar on 'Scope of Prosthodontics' was conducted for the interns and undergraduate students on 03/03/2023 in the ages of Sri Siddhratha Dental College
The event started at 11.00am, with the master of ceremonies being Dr Neelanjali Matapathi addressed the gathering with a welcome speech. Principal Dr Praveen B Kudva addressed the gathering, followed by introduction of speaker Dr B Srinivas Rao, Professor in the department of Prosthodontics. GITAM Dental college

The seminar included the scope of implants, maxillofacial prosthesis in Prosthodontics addressed to the undergraduate students by the speaker. Periodontal diagnosis for non periodontists

On 2nd of March 2023 state level seminar was conducted by the Department of Periodontics of Sri Siddhartha Dental College on the topic Periodontal diagnosis for non periodontists' to enrich the interns and undergraduate students with the knowledge to diagnose and treat the periodontal disease at the earliest.
The speaker was introduced by Dr. Kavya, following which the lecture was delivered by Dr. Shruthi S, Reader in the department of Periodontics, Vydehi Institute of Dental Sciences and Research. The speaker was presented with the certificate of appreciation by the Dental Superintendent, Dr. Sathcesh CP sir.
